- Upgrade of protection systems,
- replacement of equipment in high-voltage fields (110 kV and 400 kV)
- improvements in the monitoring and registration of transients,
- addition of an automatic tripping function for transformer T3 in case of phase failure,
- upgraded secondary equipment in 400 kV fields,
- replacement of protection on 6,3 kV busbars,
- added switches in the MCR for the connection to the Brestanica thermal power plant.

Providing an alternative power source in the event of a system-wide AC power outage, the system upgrade is an improvement to the power plant’s backup power supply system. For this purpose, a diesel generator with a corresponding control system was installed in the new building.
