  • The Dry Storage Building (DSB) is a single-storey structure consisting of reinforced concrete slabs, reinforced concrete walls and a steel structure above it.
  • The main function of the DSB building is to protect containers (storage barrels for spent fuel elements) from environmental influences. The DSB building is designed to store 70 containers, which will be sufficient until the end of the NEK's operation.

  • Phase 1 (2010): replacement of G2 busbars, support isolators and gantries.
  • Phase 2 (2012-2013): Replacement of the remaining busbars, relocation of the HV-apparatus metering field in RTP Krško and relocation of the Q15 and Q16 earthing conductors.
  • Phase 3 (2013): Replacement of G1 busbars and insulators in AC03 and AC04, relocation of AC07 metering field in CA13 and replacement of Q16, Q26, Q15 and Q25 earths.
  • Phase 4 (2015): Renovation of the captive power system, renovation of the lighting system in the switching station, replacement of the power system in the SAH with a diesel genset and UPS, and installation of an alternative power supply system for the RC1 and RC2 computer centres.
