We are excited to participate in the Cable Group Meeting organized by EPRI, hosted at Kinetrics headquarters in Toronto.
At the event, we presented two papers from our current activities:
- development of criteria for the dielectric spectroscopy method – an advanced approach compared to traditional tangent delta measurements. While tangent delta is conducted at a single frequency, dielectric spectroscopy measures across a wide frequency range, enabling the identification of thermal degradation and other insulation aging effects.
- field testing of medium-voltage cables with connected motors and initial operating experience from the cable aging management program in 2025.
We’re proud that NEK is one of the few power plants performing medium-voltage cable testing with motors connected, which ensures more realistic and valuable diagnostic results.
A big thank you to the organizers and all participants for the excellent knowledge sharing and discussion!
