Conducting of works in the Nuclear Power Plant Krsko

The majority share of activities conducted by the company Elmont takes place in the Nuclear Power Plant Krsko. Within this framework, works are subdivided into several fields, namely: continuous services, implementation of modifications, refit operations and intervention during abnormal events.

In spite of the particularities of the NPP Krsko and the related specific nature of work, we have been fulfilling the demands of the power plant in a quality manner for a number of years and thus helped contribute to the overall improvement in its operation. Our company also assists in the availability and supply of replacement parts and necessary personnel and in this way has an indirect contributing effect on the power plant's revenue. In order to maintain the quality of our services and the outstanding mental and physical conditioning of our workers, we must constantly make investments into our equipment and personnel.

The intent behind the founding of the company and our strategic directives and goals are tightly connected with our business cooperation with the NPPK, but the company naturally also seeks to develop and fill a market niche through business with other companies.

In addition to the works in the Nuclear Power Plant Krsko, we plan activities in other industrial facilities, whether it be in a direct manner or in the role of a subcontractor. The detailed scope of our projected work has not been fully defined as new order placements and negotiations are constantly underway.


Refit works in the Nuclear Power Plant Krsko

The company Elmont is highly satisfied with the successful completion of each refit or modifications implemented within the framework of refit operations. The scope of required works is always demanding, but the company and its employees are well prepared for the task. Individual activities within the framework of power plant maintenance and engineering are carefully planned.

Each refit begins with preparatory operations, which include the selection of the best personnel, home workers and foreign subcontractors, which must be highly trained for the quality performance of refit works.

Individual refits demand fast and efficient intervention, and above all flawless work. To be able to follow both general and security requirements put forth by the NPPK, we must conduct constant additional training and practical courses for all our employees and regularly modernize our equipment, which enables us to operate successfully without interruption. This makes all the related additional costs well worth.

During refit operations in the NPP Krsko, the company Elmont performs regular refit works within the framework of power plant maintenance operations, which are updated on a yearly basis. The aforementioned operations include the following electrical systems maintenance works:

• revision of stable devices 6.3 kV,
• revision of stable devices 21 kV,
• revision of stable devices 6.3/21/400 kV,
• revision of stable devices 110 and 400 kV,
• revision of DG electrical cabinets,
• maintenance works on electrical cabinets and low-voltage devices of various technological systems,
• maintenance works on 118 VAC and 125/220 VDC systems and their components,
• maintenance works on 0.4 kV control and power distribution installations and their components,
• conducting of electrical installation works on high-voltage rotating machines,
• maintenance works on heating devices and their components,
• works on electrical installations and equipment during the refit,
• works on internal facility components and MCCs,
• inspection and restoration of conductors and conduits of AOV and MOV valves.
